An upcoming community resource fair will offer information about services for families with children who have disabilities.
The South of the River Resource Fair will be Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville. It will highlight local services and resources for children and young adults with physical, intellectual and learning disabilities. Services for those with autism spectrum disorder or mental health struggles also will be featured among more than 20 community resources.
The fair will include presentations on helping young adults cope during transition times by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Parents, guardians and caregivers who are seeking resources to help plan for their child's transition from school to adult life are encouraged to attend and learn more about supportive services and resources. The fair is free.
