The City of South St. Paul Library will be closed beginning Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, ahead of the opening of the new Kaposia Library in early 2024.
During the time when the old library is closed and before the new library opens, customers can pick up holds and return items at a temporary location at Central Square Community Center, 100 Seventh Ave. N., South St. Paul. Look for a large bin outside the community center to return items and a shelf in the lobby to pick up items on hold.
Customers can access the community center lobby during the following hours:
- Monday–Friday, 5 a.m.–8 p.m.
- Saturday, 7:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Closed on Sunday
When the new Kaposia Library opens in South St. Paul, customers will find many great amenities. There will be many places to meet, read and study. The building will have a large community meeting room, several conference rooms equipped with audio-visual technology, study rooms and a reading garden.
Kaposia Library construction will be complete by the end of year. Library staff will oversee the movement of equipment, technology, furniture, books and other materials into the new library. A grand opening date will be announced in early 2024.
Kaposia Library hours will be:
- Monday–Wednesday, noon–8 p.m.
- Thursday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Closed on Sunday
