Visitors will enjoy a luncheon that will lead into a program on the attack of Pearl Harbor. Historian and lecturer Frank Sachs will discuss Japan's surprise attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 and how it came to be “A day that will live in infamy." Together, we will examine the U.S. and Japanese relationship over the 90 years before the attack as well as how each side misunderstood the other and how those misunderstandings led to the attack. Sachs will conclude with a discussion on how the attack was planned, carried out and what it cost each side.
Sachs is a former educator and spends his time working as an historian and lecturer.
