County Project 28-66
Dakota County and the City of Inver Grove Heights are improving the pedestrian crossings on County Road 28. The project is from Bowman Avenue to 500 feet west of Cahill Avenue.
This project will ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and improve safety by replacing pedestrian curb ramps.
Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, flaggers and delays throughout the project. Please allow extra time for travel, watch for construction signage and be cautious while driving through the construction area.
Tentative project timeline
Construction is scheduled to begin with setting up traffic control and mobilization to prepare for the pedestrian crossing improvements.
- Improvements are tentatively scheduled to begin June 16, 2025.
- Completion is scheduled for Aug. 15, 2025.
- The schedule is dependent on weather and can change throughout the project.
Please exercise caution while driving and walking in the area for your own safety and construction workers' safety.

Access
The middle entrance (across from Boyd Avenue) will serve as both the entrance and exit to the school.
