Notice is hereby given of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners intent to update Dakota County Ordinance 107: Park Use. Ordinance 107 is a comprehensive document that provides rules and regulations on the public use of Dakota County park lands. These guidelines provide for the safe use of park areas and facilities; for the educational and recreational benefit and enjoyment of the public; for the protection and preservation of the property, facilities, and natural resources of the park; and for the safety and general welfare of the public.
Dakota County initiated a multi-phase project in 2019 to update the ordinance, which include significant background research, benchmark reviews of ordinance documents from similar agencies, and both internal and external engagement activities.
The Dakota County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on May 23, 2023 at 9 a.m. in the Boardroom, Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed update to County Ordinance 107.
