Dakota County will be offering farmers who irrigate their crops the opportunity to test their irrigation water for nitrogen. Testing is at no cost.
After the samples are analyzed, participants will be contacted by staff from the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District to review results and teach irrigators how they can properly credit nitrogen in their irrigation water in their nutrient management plan.
Collection materials available July 9, 2023
Those who are interested in participating can get a bag containing a sample collection bottle, label and short survey starting on July 9, 2023.
