Probation violations
If the reason for your arrest warrant is due to a probation violation, you can contact your probation officer before turning yourself in.
This gives you extra help with the process. If you do not know the contact information for your probation officer, call Dakota County Community Corrections, Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. at 651-438-8288.
If you're on probation with a different county, please contact that county for guidance.
Parole violations
If you have a warrant for a parole violation, you will need to turn yourself in. Individuals will then be held in custody at the jail until their hearing with a Department of Corrections hearing officer. This is typically held within 14 days. The DOC hearing officer will decide after the hearing if the person will be released, remain in custody at the jail, or be transferred to a Department of Corrections facility. See the process for turning yourself in.
