Victims and witnesses can be notified when an offender is released. Do not depend solely on the options below for your protection. If you feel that you may be at risk, take precautions as if the offender has already been released.
Victim Information & Notification Everyday (VINE)
VINE is a free, 24-hour automated telephone service that provides notification of an offender’s release, transfer or escape from a county jail facility. Victims and the public may register at any time for notification by calling the toll free line at 1-877-MN-4-VINE (1-877-664-8463) or by going to the VINE website.
MN HAVEN
Minnesota HAVEN is a free and anonymous service that allows individuals to register to get information about an offender’s custody status in a Minnesota Department of Corrections facility (state prison) and to request notification about an inmate’s release.
Victims create an account by going to the Minnesota HAVEN website or by calling the DOC Victim Assistance Program at 1-800-657-3830.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Victim Notification Program
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement can notify victims and witnesses when a criminal alien is released. Go to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website for details.
Safe at Home
Safe at Home is a statewide address confidentiality program administered by the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State.
