Dakota County residents can bring pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns for free composting at upcoming events. Bring pumpkins to the marked collection containers at any of the following locations on Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3.

- Burnsville Market Garden, 260 Civic Center Parkway
- Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway
- Farmington Central Maintenance Facility, 19500 Municipal Drive
- Hastings – Dakota County Transportation Shop, 900 County Road 47
- Inver Grove Heights – Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbara Ave.
- Lakeville Police Department, 9237 183rd St.
- Mendota Heights Mendakota Park, 2111 Dodd Road
- Rosemount Central Park, 2875 145th St. W.
- South St. Paul – Wakota Federal Credit Union, 1151 Southview Blvd.
- West St. Paul Sports Complex, 1650 Oakdale Ave.
No painted pumpkins, wax or candles are accepted. Pumpkins will be turned into compost, a nutrient-rich soil amendment.
Last year, residents dropped off 168,000 pounds of pumpkins.
