Titles can be transferred via the drop boxes located at each location.

Service and license centers are open for walk-ins. However, making an appointment is recommended.

Buyer and seller requirements
Buyers must bring:
- The title certificate or Manufacturer's Statement of Origin
- A driver's license or state ID (These are needed for ownership transfers or first-time registration.)
Sellers must complete their section of the title or Manufacturing Statement of Origin labeled “By the Sellers." The section includes:
- Signatures
- Date of sale
- Odometer statement
- Damage disclosure
- Certified tax paid letter from the county (for mobile homes)
Minnesotans residents must also provide:
- Name of insurance company
- Policy number
- Policy expiration date
- Motorcycle engine number
Fees
Fees depend on the type and year of the vehicle.
Payment options
You can pay with cash, check, money orders, and credit or debit cards (Discover, Visa or MasterCard). Credit and debit card payments have a 2.15-percent convenience fee.
