Dakota County will crack seal about 20.5 miles of roadway. This work includes cleaning out cracks in the pavement and filling them with sealant. Crack sealing is done to extend the life of the pavement. Work will occur on the following segments:
Crack sealing
- County Road 5 – Interstate 35 southbound ramp to County Road 46 in Lakeville
- County Road 31 (Pilot Knob Road) – 2,995 feet north of County Road 50 to 4,820 feet south of County Road 64 in Farmington
- County Road 42 - west county line to County Road 11 in Burnsville
- County Road 42 - Highway 52 to 905 feet west of Lock Boulevard in Nininger Township
- County Road 43 (Lexington Avenue) –Mendota Heights Road to Highway 62
- County Road 46 (160th Street) – Highway 3 to 0.25 miles east of County Road 48 in Rosemount, Empire and Coates
- County Road 50 –Dodd Boulevard to County Road 60 in Lakeville
- County Road 56 –Courthouse Boulevard to south of Interstate 494 in Inver Grove Heights and South St Paul
- County Road 73 (Akron Avenue) – County Road 26 to Interstate 494 bridge overpass in Inver Grove Heights

Access
Temporary lane closures will be necessary to complete this work. A flagging operation will be in place on two-lane roadways. On four-lane roadways, one lane will be closed. Traffic will be shifted to the other lane in that direction. Delays are expected. Use alternate routes, if possible.
