Dakota County will crack seal about 28 miles of roadway. This work includes cleaning out cracks in the pavement and filling them with sealant. Crack sealing is done to extend the life of the pavement.
Work will occur on the following segments:
- County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) – West county line to County Road 70 in Eureka Township and Lakeville
- County Road 28 (Yankee Doodle Road) – 130 feet east of County Road 31 (Pilot Knob) to 75 feet east of (County Road 43) Lexington Avenue in Eagan
- County Road 38 (McAndrews Road) – 140th Street to Highway 77, west of the Highway 77 Bridge in Apple Valley
- County Road 43 (Lexington Avenue) – 854 feet south of County Road 28 (Yankee Doodle Road) to 350 feet south of County Road 26 (Lone Oak Road) in Eagan
- County Road 43 (Lexington Avenue) – Highway 62 to Highway 13 in Mendota Heights
- County Road 60 (185th Street)– West county line to County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) in Lakeville
- County Road 62 (190th Street) – Highway 52 to West of Fisher Avenue in Vermillion Township
- County Road 71 (Rich Valley Boulevard) – Highway 149 to 321 feet west of Highway 3 in Inver Grove Heights
- County Road 74 (Ash Street) – 2,075 feet east of County Road 31 (Pilot Knob Rd) to Highway 3 in Farmington
- Dakota County Northern Service Center, west and east parking lots
- Camp Sacajawea Retreat Center and parking lot
Project timeline
Mid-May–August 2023, this work will likely take 2–3 weeks to complete
Access
Temporary lane closures will be necessary to complete this work. A flagging operation will be in place on two-lane roadways. On four-lane roadways, one lane will be closed and traffic will be shifted to the other lane in that direction. Delays are expected. Use alternate routes, if possible.
