Background
County Road 47 (Northfield Boulevard) between Highway 3 (Dahomey Avenue) and County Road 50 (Hampton Boulevard) will be reconstructed.
The existing 11.5-mile roadway is approaching 70 years old and needs resurfacing. Due to the age, condition and need for safety improvements, a full reconstruction is needed. The reconstruction will:
- Bring the roadway up to modern standards
- Address safety concerns at intersections
- Construct stronger pavement that can endure the increase in heavy truck traffic
The use of concrete pavement is under consideration.
