Call 911
For any situation which requires the response of police, fire or emergency medical personnel, call 911. This includes non-emergency situations such as reporting a crime, a traffic situation or suspicious activity. The dispatcher will ask questions to help assure the proper level of response and assure that emergencies receive the highest priority.
Suicide and Crisis Response
The Dakota County Crisis Response Unit (CRU) provides 24-hour phone and face-to-face crisis intervention and consultation. Call 952-891-7171.
The primary goal of the Crisis Response Unit is to assist in stabilizing the immediate crisis, ensure safety for the client, the family and/or the community, and assist with referrals to appropriate county or other agency staff as necessary.

Poison Control
If you suspect poisoning, call the Minnesota Poison Center immediately at 1-800-222-1222. Do not wait for symptoms to appear. If the person is unconscious or in immediate distress, call 911.

Public Health Emergency
To report a natural or manmade emergency that may have serious public health consequences for the community, call 911. The 911 operators will notify Public Health staff.
