The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is hosting two AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers from August 2015-August 2016. These two volunteers will help the Dakota County Jail Programs Department increase its capacity to provide clients with employment, financial, and housing resources as they prepare for release from jail.
Employment & Financial Literacy Coordinator: Gain experience in a fast-paced, unique environment developing programs, building relationships with stakeholders, and providing support for adult male offenders as they prepare for release.
Housing Specialist: Learn and work in a fast-paced, unique environment as you develop tenant education workshops and build relationships landlords to support adult male offenders as they prepare for release.
