Treatment courts are specialized court programs that provide an alternative to traditional prosecution for people with substance use or mental health disorders. Instead of jail time, treatment courts offer court-supervised, long-term treatment and rehabilitation programming.
Veterans Treatment Court
This specialized court for active military and veterans in the criminal justice system that offers treatment options instead of jail or prison time.
Those who qualify for the program are required to attend all court hearings and comply with individualized treatment plans. On average, it takes most 12 to 24 months to complete the program.
Those who successfully complete the program receive a more favorable resolution of their case that may include dismissal of charges at the conclusion of probation.
