County Projects 26-60 and 26-28
Dakota County and the City of Inver Grove Heights are planning two projects on 70th Street. The project will improve roadway, safety and access for all modes of travel. One project will reconstruct 70th Street from Allen Bay to Highway 52. The second project will repave the roadway and reduce the roadway from five to three lanes from Highway 52 to Cahill Avenue.
Project overview
The project components include:
- Construction of three lane roadway
- Construction of new trail
- Construction new storm sewer
- Intersection safety improvements, including new roundabouts at Angus Avenue and Babcock Trail
Dakota County is cooperating with MnDOT on construction of another roundabout at Highway 52. This project is planned for construction in 2027.

A public open house was held April 1, 2025 at the Veterans Memorial Community Center.
County and city staff presented the preliminary plan and was available for questions and discussion.
