Dakota County programs that support families
Dakota County can connect you with support groups and family programs:
- Feeding Your Baby support group is a free, drop-in group hosted by Dakota County Public Health and Wescott Library. Lactation experts and nurses are available to discuss feeding positions, returning to work, child growth and development, pumping and milk storage, adjusting to life with a baby and feeding decisions. All are welcome.
- WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a nutrition program that helps families eat well and stay healthy. WIC provides families with nutrition information, healthy foods, lactation support, and information on health and community programs.
- Family Home Visiting is a Dakota County program where public health nurses meet with you until your baby turns 2 years old. Nurses connect you to health and benefit programs, measure your baby's growth and help you find community resources.
