The Office of Performance & Analysis tracks community indicators to provide Dakota County’s leaders with timely, accurate, and objective information to help inform policy decisions. A full list of these community indicators and performance measures can be found on the menu to the left. Information about the County is updated via sources such as MN Compass, the American Community Survey, the Metropolitan Council, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and others.
As part of the process of updating the goals outlined in the Dakota County Strategic Plan, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners discussed the creation and maintenance of a set of community indicators and performance measures associated with the four Strategic Plan goals. These help Dakota County monitor the trend, over time, of several important items, as well as information regarding the performance of the services that we provide.
