Current Minnesota state law requires licensed child care providers to:
- Place an infant on his/her back to sleep in an approved crib for every sleep.
- Place infant on a firm mattress with a tight fitting sheet, with nothing else but the infant’s pacifier in the crib.
- Obtain annual Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) training for self and all substitutes, assistants and helpers.
- Conduct monthly crib inspections and annual recall checks.
