Safe Sleep for Infants

Current Minnesota state law requires licensed child care providers to:

• Place an infant on their​ back to sleep in an approved crib for every sleep.
• Place infant on a firm mattress with a tight fitting sheet, with nothing else but the infant’s pacifier in the crib.
• Obtain annual Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) training for self and all substitutes, assistants and helpers.
• Conduct monthly crib inspections and annual recall checks.
