Dakota County and the City of Eagan are assessing Cliff Road between Johnny Cake Ridge Road and Pilot Knob Road. This project includes the Thomas Center Drive-Beacon Hill Road and Thomas Lake Road-Stonecliffe Drive intersections.
Various traffic control options will be assessed to improve safety and mobility in this area. Currently, the intersection of Thomas Center Drive-Beacon Hill Road is controlled by a traffic signal and the intersection of Thomas Lake Road-Stonecliffe Drive is controlled by a side stop for traffic on the minor road.
As the signal at the intersection of Thomas Center Drive-Beacon Hill Road nears the end of its life, Dakota County is evaluating the appropriate intersection control at both intersections. The study also aims to address crash patterns at Thomas Lake Road-Stoneciffe Drive and provide efficient traffic movement for all modes of transportation throughout the corridor. The study will recommend intersection control and/or layout based on findings and public input.
Tentative project timeline
