The Mississippi River Trail stretches 3,000 miles through 10 states following the Mississippi from Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico. This Mississippi River Regional Trail segment will make the final connection, allowing a bicyclist to ride the 27-mile trail from South St. Paul to Hastings.
The Spring Lake Park Reserve segments of the Mississippi River Regional Trail is a critical link for the overall regional trail system, providing connectivity through a challenging area characterized by large ravines, high-quality natural resources and views, and existing and future park development.
Currently, the project is under review to explore all of the feasible trail alignments through the park reserve.
